What do we mean by motivation? Motivation can be defined as an action after getting some willingness to achieve something. Motivation derived by word motive or needs that gives you satisfaction. In other words, an action, willingness, behavior and goal of a person could be the reason to get motivated. In simple words you can say “The reason” plays very important role to get motivated in life.
The needs or desire can be influence by social, culture, lifestyle, personality or may be generally innate. On the basis of this motivation can be divided in four categories i.e. Extrinsic, Intrinsic, Introjected and Identified.
Extrinsic Motivation
Extrinsic motivation comes from outside of us, we can be motivated by seeing someone, by getting some rewards or in other words we can say that we do it because someone is impelling us towards.
Most of the corporate use this method on its employee to achieve goals related to their business profile. Extrinsic motivation method is totally opposite from intrinsic method. It is based on some outside stories, personalities or actions which influence us to achieve our goals. Extrinsic motivation method would be for short duration often.
Intrinsic Motivation
Intrinsic motivation is based upon internal reasons or behavior. For example: when the action links to internal behavior and gives you pleasure of doing something. It always depends on your goals and life lessons which you learn from your day to day life. In work you can be intrinsically motivated by working and in personal place it could be based on situations.
Introjected Motivation
Introjected motivation is similar to intrinsic motivation or you can say that Introjected motivation is another form of intrinsic motivation. The only deviation between introjected and intrinsic if it is not completed then you will feel tension.
Identified Motivation
Identified motivation is that where something is already identified but no action is being started yet to achieve that. It is basically depends upon particular activity. For example: you know what you want to be in your life and you have identified your goal but you have not started any action.
Taking an action is the “Secret” of life; once you know it, you will start enjoying. When you simply start an action your motivation works as a booster.
