Importance of Smile

A smile is important because it can improve mood, reduce stress, and make others feel more comfortable and at ease.

Importance of Smile

A smile is formed primarily by flexing the muscles on the sides of the mouth. Some smiles include twitching the muscles in the corners of the eyes, an action known as a Duchenne smile. In humans, a smile expresses joy, friendliness, happiness, pleasure, or fun. It is distinguished from a similar but usually involuntary expression of anxiety known as a grimace. Although cross-cultural studies have shown that smiling is a means of communication in the world, there are big differences between different cultures, religions, and societies, with some using smiles to express confusion or embarrassment.

Although smiling is seen as a positive emotion most of the time, there are many cultures that perceive smiling as a negative expression and view it as unpleasant. Too many smiles can be seen as a sign of superficiality or dishonesty. In some parts of Asia, people can smile when they are embarrassed or in emotional pain. Some people may smile at others to indicate a friendly greeting. A smile can be reserved for close friends and family. Many people in the former Soviet Union consider smiling at strangers in public to be unusual and even suspicious behavior, even a sign of stupidity.

A large systematic cross-cultural study of the social perception of smiling individuals has shown that in some cultures a smiling individual may be perceived as less intelligent than the same non-smiling individual (and that avoiding cultural uncertainty may explain these differences).

Moreover, the same study showed that social corruption can undermine the prosocial perception of smiling: in societies with high corruption indicators, trust in smiling people is reduced. There may also be differences between the sexes. In the United States and Canada, women report that men tell them to smile.

For example, Greg Rickford, a Canadian MP, told a reporter to smile rather than answer the question she was asking. Biological anthropologist Helen Fisher says that while it may be thoughtful or controlling behavior, such behavior is unlikely to be welcome.

So, friends here are examples of few smiles which I have observed while I used to talk with people. On the basis of these smiles we can identify the feelings of various humans because When we smile, our muscles can send feedback to our faces and help to boost our mood.

Smile is one of the best things you can do for your health and well-being because it can boost your immune system and make you feel better.

We can describe smile by this famous quote written by St. Dalai Lama-

A simple smile. That’s the start of opening your heart and being compassionate to others.”

Duchenne Smile

Duchenne smile is also called as Golden smile. It means that feeling of real happiness when a person has such smile on his face. So in other words we can also call it as smile of complete joy. when this smile is on a person’s face then whatever the body parts on his face i.e. his eyes, ears, nose and lips are involve in this smile. This can happen only when a person who is completely blissful or completely happy. So through Duchenne smile we came to know what is the limit of a person’s happiness.

Polite or Humble smile

When we are about to give some bad news to some person, we meet some unknown person to whom we are about to tell some bad news, you bring a smile on your face which we can put in the category of a humble smile. Such a smile sometimes comes in a state of surprise on our faces. In other words, if we tell about this smile, then in this smile our mouth smiles, our eyes are not involved in this smile. The humble smile helps us to create a discreet distance in a crowd of people. Such a smile helps us a lot while working in our office.

Naughty smile

We can say mischievous smile as such a smile that when some mischief is going on in a person's mind or someone wants to do mischief, then this smile comes on his face. This smile covers both the lips and the eyes of the person. The person has a slight smile on his lips and his eyes become slightly smaller. We can also call this smile a bubbly smile, when we have to do some mischief with someone or we have to flirt with someone, then we bring such a smile on our face. Often such a smile attracts people towards itself.

Wistful smile

It is not necessary that human beings express their feelings by speaking only. Sometimes by looking at a person's smile, we understand what is going on in that person's heart and then in the brain. A sad smile is such a smile, seeing that it is known that the person smiling is sad about something. In this smile, along with a smile on the lips of the smiling person, there is moisture in his eyes. Often when a person is sick, he is advised to smile a little. Researchers have found that people who are alone smile more because they are going through a painful process, then they resort to smiling to hide their pain, by smiling they just want to comfort their heart that “Everything is ok”.

Reward Smile or Positive Smile

A reward smile creates a positive emotion on our face. And if we say in other words, we can say reward smile aa s positive smile. Psychology believes that we use reward smile to inspire others or to motivate ourselves. This smile gives us a satisfaction. Whenever we do a good deed, we have such a smile on our face, I want to give you an example hert when a child sees his mother, there is such a smile on his face as if he is going to get some reward. If yes, then that smile is that.

Smile is one of the most important facial expressions and can make you look younger.

Well said about smile by Bryant H. McGill- “The greatest self is a peaceful smile, that always sees the world smiling back.”

In very simple words we describe Smile is a very simple and litter word, but it can make happy lots of people besides you. So, go through with a smile on below points and try to gain essence of smile:

-         If you are a teacher and when you enter the class smiling, see the smile on all the children's faces.

-         If you are a doctor and treat the patient smilingly, then the confidence of the patient will be doubled.

-         If you are a duodenum, then do all the work of the house smiling and then see the atmosphere of happiness in the whole family.

-         If you are the head of the house, then if you enter the house in the evening smiling, then there will be an atmosphere of happiness in the whole family.

-         If you are a businessman and you enter the company happily, then see that the pressure of the mind of all the employees will be reduced and the atmosphere will be happy.

-         If you are a shopkeeper and will honor your customer by smiling, then the customer will be happy and take the goods from your shop.

-         If you are an agent, meet your customers smiling. They will enjoy meeting you and will meet you whenever think of your insurance.

So, “Smile Please”

-         Because smiles do not cost money.  This is the hallmark of happiness and prosperity.

-         Because your smile will bring smile on many faces.

-         Because you will not get this life again.

-         Because the blessings given in anger also feel bad and the bad words uttered by smiling also look good.

-         Because everyone in the world likes blooming flowers and blooming faces.

-         Because your laughter can cause someone happiness.

-         Because relationships in the family can last only if we keep smiling after seeing each other.

The biggest thing, smile please because it expresses your feelings and being a human you need to express yourself.

Smile is a form of nonverbal communication that can communicate positive feelings and intentions toward others.

Therefore, smile on your own and bring smiles on the face of others.

Keep smiling and always remember that “A smile is happiness you’ll find right under your nose.”
