Making fun in life is more important

Making fun in life is more important than working

Finding a balance between work and play is essential for a fulfilling life, but prioritizing enjoyment and humor over work can lead to a more joyful existence. Embracing lightheartedness and engaging in activities that bring us laughter and happiness can enhance our overall well-being, foster meaningful connections, reduce stress, and provide a sense of fulfillment that purely focusing on work may not achieve. While work remains important for sustenance and personal growth, making room for fun and laughter ultimately adds richness and vitality to our lives.

Is being happy more important than being successful?

It has become the new norm in our world to work hard and strive for success. People no longer know how to be joyful and enjoy life; instead, all that is seen around them is work. Statements like "no off," "plenty of work," and "deadline is coming" are frequently heard. A 24/7 work ethic has replaced what was formerly more of a 9-to-5 culture. But is that the best course of action? Should we only concentrate on our jobs and neglect to enjoy life?

While putting your best foot forward and striving for success is crucial, having a good time while working hard is just as important.

Who says one cannot be successful or will be less productive if they party hard or enjoy life to the fullest?

In reality, a person who spends more time enjoying life and appreciating every little accomplishment will be happier because they will feel more fulfilled and content. Finding a healthy balance between work and personal time is very important in life, but not everyone can do it perfectly. But one shouldn't have an excuse for not attempting to be happy. No matter how much success you have in life, work and professional obligations will always be there for you.

Today's world is more like a stage where competitors are constantly battling for the first position. They are genuinely unsure about the finish line and especially when they should stop, and their happiness has begun to depend on temporary victories. The brain signals us to work hard for the next goal as soon as the previous one is achieved. So, there is no time for fun.

Let's use an example to help you better grasp this. Your colleague recently received a promotion and was shown much appreciation in front of the entire team. He appeared to be content, was grinning widely, and was filled with pride at his success. But later, hardly one noticed the labor of love that went into it. Days when he stayed late to finish his work, missed family events or was unable to go to their kids' sporting events. He may have been prosperous and accomplished much on the professional front, but was he truly successful and happy on the personal front? The reply is "no."

Many things in life are more significant than work.

Let's examine a few areas that you might begin to concentrate on if you are one of those people who is constantly rushing to finish work and not fully living your life:

*   Family – Work must never take the place of this as the priority. It is admirable to have high standards and a will to succeed. However, if we don't spend enough time with our loved ones, what is the point of working hard and making a lot of money if we are only working for their happiness? Even while earning money is crucial, maintaining strong family ties is also key. Spend time enjoying holidays, taking impromptu trips, or going out to dinner throughout the workweek. One can express their love and affection in a variety of ways.

*   The flow of time – Time is one thing in this world that moves forward regardless of whether a person is alive or dead. Having said that, it is also true that the current situation won't last forever. Your child won't turn 10 again, and you won't be old enough to pursue all of your interests and desires again either. Find a technique to enhance your time management abilities if you are unable to find a balance. You would be able to achieve a perfect balance between your personal and professional lives in this manner, giving you ample time to enjoy your life.

*   Step outside – Do you recall how we used to play outside till we were all worn out as children? Look at us today—eyes everyone is riveted to their laptop screens as if there is no world outside of their home or their tiny office. We only need to reach out and discover the lovely, kind, and joyful world outside. Every night or early in the morning, go for a little stroll to enjoy the beauty of nature. Get to know the folks in your neighborhood; you never know when they can come in handy. Take your kids to the park to play so they can experience childhood as we did.

*   Exercise – Regular physical activity is necessary for your body to feel refreshed and energized. Our bodies require exercise to survive, just like we need food. Don't forget to engage in physical activity of any kind; it need not be strictly an exercise; it might be a sport you enjoy or have always wanted to try. Spend some time honing your skills and enjoying your hobbies.

*   Diet – A balanced, healthy diet ought to be at the top of your priority list. Even when you are very busy or occupied with work, NEVER forget to eat. Long-term effects on your health may result from this. Ignoring meals might result in a variety of health problems that may later affect your career. Never forget that eating a well-balanced diet will make you happier in addition to improving your health and appearance.

You can and should do more than just these things to make your life more enjoyable. The list is limitless, and the order of the items might change depending on the situation. One day you might not feel like going for a walk outside; instead, you might want to stay at home, unwind, and binge-watch Netflix. That is another way to enjoy life and have pleasure. The key here is to focus on what matters to you and gives you a sense of happiness and fulfillment rather than doing one of the things listed above.

Now ask yourself – Are you happy? Or are you also running behind money and success?

If you are one of those behind success and fame, it is the time now to make those changes and start living your life and not merely spend the life.

Success means living life with plans and happiness means living your life with passion. So, what is life if you are just running behind things and not getting time to enjoy? Instead of running behind plans, you run behind happiness. Even if you are at work, take out time to experience talking to new people not as a colleague but as a person. Listen to their side of stories and share yours, make a bond that is more than just professional.

FUN FACT - Did you know that adults only laugh on average 17 times per day, according to a 1988 study by Kuiper and Martin?

Don’t let the world see you just as someone who is always behind goals, but someone who is fun to be around. Show your inner self to the people around you and let them know what they mean to you. The world is a never-ending race and not always do we need to win this race. Take a moment to slow down and appreciate the journey with your loved ones.
